
Yoga Alliance 500 RYT
YogaFit is pleased to announce that we will
be offering a 500-hour Teacher Training Program
that will consist of the following requirements:
1. Be a Graduate of Yoga Alliance approved
200-hour RYT (copy of certificate mandatory)
2. YOGAFIT Tx®*--Postural
Assessment and Muscle Balance (prerequisite: Anatomy & Alignment)
3. YOGAFIT Rx®*--Supported
Restoration and Relaxation for Health (prerequisite: Anatomy & Alignment)
4. 3-Week Intensive in India or Hood River
(prerequisite: RYT 200 & Level 4 Integration)
* Please see required reading list below
Eligible 200-hour RYT's:
Depending on what year you completed your RYT program, and
through what school, you will be required to take some additional
coursework to complete the program:
Graduates of YF RYT 200 (prior to 1/1/07):
• YogaFit Level 5
• Anatomy & Alignment (prereq. before YOGAFITx)
• Level 4 Integration (prereq. before
3-week intensive to solidify Sanskrit and philosophical foundation)
Graduates of YF RYT 200 (on or after 1/1/07):
• Anatomy & Alignment Integration (prereq
before YOGAFITx)
• Level 4 Integration (prereq. before
3-week intensiveto solidify Sanskrit and philosophical foundation)
Graduates of other RYT 200 program:
• YogaFit Level 1 – Foundational
Elements of YF Vinyasa Style (prereq before any other YF
Trainings)
• Anatomy & Alignment (prereq.
before YOGAFITx)
• Level 4 (prereq. before 3-week intensive
to solidify Sanskrit and philosophical foundation)
Training Locations:
The following four-day trainings will be offered
at YogaFit’s MindBody Fitness Conferences throughout the US in 2009:
• YogaFit Tx––Postural Assessment
and Muscle Balance
• YogaFit Rx––Supported Restoration and
Relaxation for Health
• Level 4 Integration Training
• YogaFit Anatomy & Alignment (2-Day Training – offered
at conferences and other host locations)
Additionally, in 2009, a 3-Week Intensive will be required
and is offered in both:
Hood River, Oregon
AND
India
Master Trainers and Reading List:
3-Week Intensives will be taught by RYT 500 and ERYT 500
YogaFit Master Trainers and Sri Jayakumar Swamysree from
the University of Mysore, India. Sri Jayakumar holds the
following degrees in yoga and physical education: B.Sc.,
M.P.Ed. (Mysore), D.Y.Ed.(Lonavala), Y.T.H.P.(Bangalore).
Sri Jayakumar represented India (ICCR) and worked for the
embassy of India, Moscow, Russia for four years. Presently
he also teaches yoga in the University of Mysore, and is
the head of the department of Yoga, Meditation, and Spirituality.
He has been practicing yoga for 28 years and will teach
theory, philosophy, mantra, Sanskrit, meditation, and pranayama
for
YogaFit’s 500 hour program in 2008.
